2026/27 · Beetoven & more

Powerful stories and adventurous collaborations shape AMATIS’s 2026/27 season. Highlights include a return to Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and performances of "Humanity in War" with Thomas Quasthoff at Lisbon’s Gulbenkian and Barcelona’s Palau de la Música Catalana as well as performances of the complete Beethoven Trios & the Beethoven Triple concerto. The 2nd edition of AMATIS Festival will be taking place in spring 2027!

Sharing Music

AMATIS’s commitment to connection extends beyond the concert stage. Through teaching, children’s concerts and community projects, the trio shares the curiosity and pleasure at the heart of its own music-making.

Supporting young musicians

From a faculty residency at Cambridge University and teaching for the Mehli Mehta Music Foundation in India to performing with the National Youth Orchestras of Scotland, AMATIS shares music with the next generation. Its collaboration with NYOS included the commission and premiere of Andrea Tarrodi’s triple concerto "Moorlands and Beyond…" in 2024.

Young listeners

AMATIS creates bespoke concerts that invite children into music through stories, humour and discovery, making a first encounter with live performance something personal and memorable. (Collaborations with major music festivals, world-class concert halls and also regional presenters)

Music close to home

Through local community and social-support initiatives, AMATIS brings live music into settings where it can offer a moment of connection, reflection and shared enjoyment as part of their AMATIS Festival outreach.

AMATIS seeks out collaborators who open new possibilities for listening, performing and storytelling.

Humanity in War · Thomas Quasthoff

An AMATIS production: Letters and diaries from the First World War meet music in a deeply human encounter with love, loss and compassion. With Thomas Quasthoff as narrator, AMATIS gives voice to the individuals behind history, creating an emotional evening in which words and music illuminate one another.

Classical meets improvisation · Michael Wollny & Ib Hausmann

A shared appetite for the unexpected brings AMATIS together with jazz pianist Michael Wollny and clarinettist Ib Hausmann. Their collaboration opens a dialogue between composed music and improvisation, allowing familiar sounds to take surprising turns.

Music in motion · DANCE!

With clarinetist Ib Hausmann and dancers Martina Rudari and Samuel Adam, AMATIS explores the meeting of sound and movement.

Ib Hausmann · Sound, colour and imagination

From Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time to Clouds, AMATIS’s collaboration with clarinetist Ib Hausmann explores music’s capacity to evoke entire worlds. Their shared recording captures a partnership rooted in close listening and a fascination with instrumental colour.

Andrea Tarrodi · Giving new music a voice

AMATIS’s relationship with Swedish composer Andrea Tarrodi extends from the piano trio Moorlands to the triple concerto "Moorlands and Beyond…" Premiered with the National Youth Orchestras of Scotland in 2024, the concerto takes their musical dialogue onto an orchestral scale.

AMATIS brings favourite musical partners together in lively, imaginative programmes spanning piano trios, piano quintets, string sextets and unexpected combinations. Collaborations include Chausson’s Concert for violin, piano and string quartet with the Hanson Quartet, or creative programmes with Kit Armstrong, Ib Hausmann, SongHa Choi, Eivind Ringstad, Violaine Despeyroux a.o . Each encounter brings new personalities, fresh colours and a different story to the stage. These programmes are flexible and AMATIS is open for special requests anytime!
